Nothing like starting to type some words and then seeing the program complete the next 4 characters with something that actually makes sense!

Oh that is great! :)

Maybe in the future we can have an AI program that generate the possible strings but only give us those that would make any sense. 8)

Those are the sort of options I've been trying to add... but when it comes to Trespasser, what DOES make sense? I mean, you have names with things like "PH", "PV", "AMB"... I had been reading about the allowed 3-letter combinations in English, but in the end decided to just implement the "Don't repeat" option.

True haha!
There are a few characters I think you can remove when searching I found, even if Trespasser support them, but based on IDs we know.

/ Is only used in the /// BELOW/HERE/TEMP and Mayan/Jeep music.
# Is only used in for the phone and music.
Q is only used in the Tranq guns (can be removed for non-gun ones I believe).
& is also only used in the Guns IDs, so I would say this can be ignored when searching for other IDs as well.

It won't speed up anything a lot, but it will give a few less result. :P

Oh, I mostly leave them out. X and Z are pretty uncommon, too.

So, thanks to LtSten, we now have identified a further 6 sound names from the Effects.tpa files (4 he found and 2 more I found based on his findings):

I've updated my listings, but I haven't uploaded the updated files yet... I'll wait for a few days to see if we manage to find a few more in the meantime.

LtSten is using a brute force method known a s a dictionary attack. (Or maybe he's using rainbow tables, as he hasn't given as many details of his program...)
