Yep, essentially brute force with some careful choice of prefix/suffix/word lists. Hoping to share something vaguely user friendly soon - there's only so much unpaid programming I feel like doing on weekdays. ;)

It used to be like that when there were far many more missing... then as fewer were left, it got slower. This batch was this large, because there was a whole group of names (about a dozen) [EDIT: I just counted them: that's 13, or half the total] which had only minor differences among them (and we knew what those differences were). I had been trying to figure them out for a long time, but I didn't try the multiple " - " separators (space, dash, space) as similar names only used it at the start (after "GUN") or used a lone "-" (dash) or " " (space) instead.
and without us getting anything new (asset/build etc). :)
Oh, hopefully those times will come back at some point... there HAS to still be more lying around, in a vault somewhere...

I hope it comes back at least one more time :)

Just found another one:

Code: Select all

83FCA26A	TESTVOICEOVER
EDIT: and another one just a few minutes ago after realizing a pattern here:

Code: Select all

3786DB65	TESTEFFECT
Those moments when you've just waken up and your mind is still somewhere between consciousness and a dream... and suddenly everything makes sense... and you have to grasp the idea before it goes away...

EDIT2: LtSten just confirmed this last one independently and also adds another one:

Code: Select all

25B10F6C	SPEC - FLIES
Duh! All this time it had been "SPEC - " and not "SPEC-", no wonder we didn't find it... I wonder if that's the case with sny other ones, too.

Only 16 names missing now.

This is crazy!

One thing I really like with the IDs are that you get a look into what the devs probably planned to have in the game even if they never implemented them!

I happen to have returned to reading the walkthrough tonight, in the LAB area... and found this:
Entering the biology building
Climb dumpster to get in.

Basement/rooftop fusebox
Reset circuit breakers to restore full power.

Clean Room
Use robot arm to open door or do something from other side
Hmm!

I'm guessing you know but it's not in the spreadsheet comments but these two samples from b55 are from Tomb Raider.
