New commercial discovered with a different cover art
https://archive.org/details/capture-a-307
Found this on archive a couple days ago and it's something I haven't seen before. But take a look at the box art, there's no splintered wood on the left side. Plus, there seems to be claws on the bottom half of the box.

Re: New commercial discovered with a different cover art
A very neat find. I've never heard Trespasser was in a commercial, even if it is with the movie. And it is interesting with it being from January 1998 with a coupon.
Never seen that art, but it seems like some early WIP of what was finally finalized IIRC in June 1998 (based on that eBay listing)!

Nice find, thanks for sharing
Are there any alternate or additional Rex vs soda machine frames in here? Been a long while since I saw the trailer it was also in.

Interesting... too bad about the video quality.

Re: New commercial discovered with a different cover art
Interests me a little that a different box art was had. It might be what started my wonder if this Raptor is from a TLW promo image, done custom by Tres devs with paint, or a stock footage of the animatronic so buried in the materials from Universal that it never got used for other things they put out.
Re: New commercial discovered with a different cover art
I assumed it was the same image, but edited/enhanced?

Well my eyes may be playing tricks on me but the angle seems a bit different.

Re: New commercial discovered with a different cover art
It is similar, but I think it is some early concept of it.

Re: New commercial discovered with a different cover art
The one on the left of the image in Draco's post looks a lot like the brown TLW Raptor on the right in this image:
Seems they took this image and moved the right hand further up to me.
My guess as to where the final box art came from is potentially an close-up of one of the Raptor animatronics directly from the TLW set? If I remember correctly the developers did have access to the set at some point.

Hmmm, I looked at the brow ridge, and it still seems a little different...The one on the left of the image in Draco's post looks a lot like the brown TLW Raptor on the right in this image:
That could be. Maybe Steven let them come on set for their own references. My guess as to where the final box art came from is potentially an close-up of one of the Raptor animatronics directly from the TLW set? If I remember correctly the developers did have access to the set at some point.

Re: New commercial discovered with a different cover art
I was using a site that index various CDs on Archive.org. I came across a Spanish 1997 Microsoft Sampler CD. While this CD appears to have removed Trespasser from it (probably due to the game being delayed), it does contain what appears to be an early version of the box art. Sadly the image is small, but as all other images that are for other games are the actual box art, this must be it as well:
The date of the file is "1997-10-14" so it is probably earlier than this.
There is also a leftover LOGO:

Re: New commercial discovered with a different cover art
That Rex version of the box is certainly new. And that particular stock photo of the Rex was used everywhere for the film's release.
