Wondering about filling all that space with content.. Wasn't entirely easy with JPDS...
Re: Screenshot thread
It hasn't been easy with the Pens, either, even though it's not *that* big.

Yeah, it IS a bit of a pain with the map being 4096x, but a lot of the map is covered in ocean anyway since the island is completely surrounded on all sides by it. I'd say the playable area is something like 70% at most. There's plenty of area that is filled with mountains and inaccessible terrain, fortunately, though there are a couple of medium-sized areas I'm unsure what to do with. The good thing is that the Park itself covers a lot of the island, and the main facilities are mostly in the area that isn't encompassed by the Park, so everything is already sort of bustling to begin with. Everything in-between is open to interpretation, which is where I'm mostly using original ideas. Plus there is of course the underground tunnel network that will act as the fast travel system if you need to get places quickly, so you should only have to make the really long treks once before unlocking that exit from the tunnels. It hasn't been easy with the Pens, either, even though it's not *that* big.

Thanks as always, Drac!Draconisaurus wrote:She's a beaut'!
Uploaded another screen to Moddb a while ago and forgot to post it here, soooo...
Continuing on from the Windmill Power Station beach, the perimeter road runs all the way around the island, passing through every environment the island has to offer.
EDIT: Just uploaded another, so here you go:
The largest dinosaur on Isla Nublar, brachiosaurus altithorax is a docile herbivore that typically has nothing to fear of the island's carnivore population. Their great size makes them a safe haven for smaller animals being stalked by the odd Raptor.

*sigh* Well. Back to the old drawing board I guess...maybe starting from scratch on an 8192x8192-sized level will produce better results.Draconisaurus wrote:Ew, yuck! Gross! This level looks like an old lady's cat vomited on the cake from the TresCom anniversary level I never finished.

Mmmm. Better go for 320x224 max screen res and 4-poly trees and 6-poly raptors.TheIdiot wrote:*sigh* Well. Also, ASA script the entire game.
Revert to 1-bit BMPs.
Recommend players squeeze lemon juice onto their mousepads.

Yeah, that's a slightly modified quote from Cave Johnson, CEO of Aperture Sciences.

Geez, you're starting to sound a lot like that author Lemon-y Snickett...Lemons?? I don't want your damn lemons, what the hell am I supposed to do with these? Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons!
...I'm sorry, that was awful.
Re: Screenshot thread
Well, suffice to say the trailer hasn't come along as quickly as I'd hoped (just missing ONE bloody model!), so here's something random I've been working on to make up for it...
This is an older screenshot so it looks a bit more complete now, but it's close to final here. Anyone want to guess at where I took the concept for this baby from?
EDIT: Also added this on Moddb, figured I'd post here at home base too...
Finally decided on a name and logo for Diane's Private Military Company! Quite proud of this one for some reason, despite its simplicity - HELIX Intervention and Security Services.
