7 zip actually compresses stuff smaller than . RAR with its .7Z format. Not all websites know what it is though and the downloads for it may not work or become corrupted from what I've seen.
I didn't know you could but hidden images inside of a jpg file either. Interesting, I'll have to try that some time.

Not all formats get smaller when with 7zip, Rar compresses some better than 7zip.
