From Ambient.tpa:

Code: Select all

  111 85b6c76a no "Spec-Crane Arm Run"
Got it after I noticed it sounded similar to this other one:

Code: Select all

  126 063b81e3 no "Spec-Crane Arm Big"

  444 872d3e69 no "PLASTIC-DROP-CMNT"
  445 fb84f351 no "PLASTIC-DROP-DIRT"
I have to take some time to update the lists...

Heh, nice. Reminds me of the VCR tapes. As I'm sure you know, those are the types of sounds referenced by specific collisions of sound materials, just to be clear, not to be used as sound materials themselves.

Hmmm yes.... wow, just took a look at the first page. You've gotten quite a few new sounds by now. I'll take some time soon to go through them all.... (didn't finish ED btw, lol, but am much much closer, and the starting location is 99% done. a certain CGun object was giving me quite the headache...)

Wait untill I update the lists... which I haven't done in more than a month.
UPDATE: done. Take another look now...
UPDATE 2: here are a few statistics on how many sounds have been found and how many are still TBD

Code: Select all

File Done	in %	To do	in %
Menu.tpa	16/16	100%	0/16	0%
Ambient.tpa	143/159	89,93%	16/159	10,07%
Stream.tpa	450/455	98,90%	5/455	1,10%
Effects.tpa	525/628	83,60%	103/628	16,40%
Foley Table	84/85	98,82%	1/85	1,18%
SoundMaterials	102/103	99,03%	1/103	0,97%
Of course, if you want to use any of the still TBD sounds on your levels, you can just use any character string calculated by my program instead, they will work even if they are not the original string itself (may be more diffricult to memorize, though).
I'll take some time soon to go through them all.... (didn't finish ED btw, lol, but am much much closer, and the starting location is 99% done. a certain CGun object was giving me quite the headache...)
Promises, promises...

Haha, there's a sound for silence... I suppose that could be useful if you wanted intermittant extended pauses in random bird ambient triggers.

"Spec-Computer Room Run" - fascinating... why would this one exist along with the mainframe boot run? Perhaps it was meant to switch over after the boot sequence was finished.. or something....

"Spec-Helicopter Loop" - perfect. Just wait till you see what this is used for. ;)

"AMB-PH-B L&R DOPL" - Aha! This sound is more or less in the menu TPA. I was hoping it was also already in the Ambient file. There's at least 2 others I'm hoping are in there as well.. I'll do a more comprehensive search another time.

"VA173 Reverb B" - Niiiice. Good to know I don't have to import it into the additive TPA anymore. ;)

"Wood Hard Metal" - heh, nice!

"Metal Dull C" - haha, I'm sure I've heard this somewhere.. Hmm wait so are sounds like this definitely sound materials, or possible just referenced sounds from other materials?
(EDIT: yeah I think it's just a reference..)

Code: Select all

  111 85b6c76a no "Spec-Crane Arm Run"
[...]
  126 063b81e3 no "Spec-Crane Arm Big"
  127 c7a49155 no "Spec-Crane Motor Run"

Code: Select all

   67 db04d015 no "Spec-Crane Arm Big Stop"
   68 063b81e3 no "Spec-Crane Arm Big"
   69 c7a49155 no "Spec-Crane Motor Run"
   70 131a5dc4 no "Spec-Crane Start"
Whoa, some duplicate sounds! I always kinda wondered about this.. that's rather interesting. It means they tried it with one AT, it didn't work, so they put it in the other TPA file...

Oh and, guess what Slug. :? These are the fabled car sounds. Turns out they were all meant for the crane... that's funny how it got that dev to confirm that they wanted drivable cars, anyway! XD

Code: Select all

   62 0182329d no "Spec-Computer Beep 1"
   63 988b6327 no "Spec-Computer Beep 2"
   64 ef8c53b1 no "Spec-Computer Beep 3"
   65 71e8c612 no "Spec-Computer Beep 4"
Whoa dude, the first one sounds familiar, but I'm not sure in exactly what way?? Something with the Cray of course.. the others are totally unfamiliar, I wonder what purpose they would have served.

"Spec-Door Hing01" - Ooooo, ghost ship. ;)

"Spec-Electrical Fence" - holy crap, nice!

Code: Select all

  175 5ae12f7f no "GUN - REMINGTON 870-01"
  176 c3e87ec5 no "GUN - REMINGTON 870-02"
Hmmm what are these ones? They're not sounding familiar.. too tired to see if a gun uses them..

"GUN - SHOTGUN LOAD" - Niiiiiice. 8)

Code: Select all

453 25b10f6c no unknown (bees, flies, mosquitoes?)
Oooo, let us know when you decode that one. ;)

K it's very late once again and I must be getting to bed.... *eyes fall out*

Metal Dull 1 & 2 are sound materials; A, B and C are the sounds they make.

I think it's more possible that they wanted to use them in both ways. Remember that bit about playingg two different sounds at the same time we were discussing some time ago?

Sounds like a comm link. Possibly related to Anne transmitting whatever was on the Cray to the outer world... (Remember how you all were saying how a diskette wouldn't be enough?)

In order to speed things up, could anybody contact Bill Brown and ask him the original names of these 5 music streams?

http://rapidshare.com/files/63721969/Stream.rar

None of them is on his site, and even though scallenger's soundtrack page has them, I'm not sure where the names listed for them come from, I'd rather have Bill Brown answer without reading those other names...

Heh, well that was only because 1 person suggested the disc could be used. I don't think the devs ever expected Anne to bring the disc with her after she listened to the contents. I believe the answer actually lies with Harold Greenwood. ;)
So, you never saw when I added that Remington 870 shotgun using those sounds?
Heh, I don't know what one looks like, so I probably saw it in the Armory and didn't know realize what I was seeing...

Ah well, I'll help you out a bit there, the names were all invented by Scallenger - he didn't like any of the T-script names, and found them too difficult to determine, anyway (since he's not a TresEd-user). So of course for the unknown music pieces, they are pure guesses. Interesting that the Stegosaur Greeting music probably does have something to do with the Stego. As for emailing, I think that's a job for Slugger-man. 8)

It's the one that looks like a "classic" shotgun, wooden stock and grey barrel...

Yes, I suspected that...

Not necessarily, really. It's just something starting with "R", "S" or "T".

Hmmmm, interesting. Not that nice-looking of a gun, but cool.. I have an idea for a mystery model it could go to. ;) Though perhaps that's one of your unidentified gun sounds..

Just found two more from Effects.tpa:

Code: Select all

   10 b63c7a3b no "Wood Small"
   12 8cc2bafa no "Wood Stick"
And I was right on my assumption that they were "small" and "stick"... only I was looking for something starting with "Metal" (as most of the entries that use it are collisions with metal) instead of "Wood".
