Here is a list of useful (some vital!) utilities and plugins for editing Trespasser. Several are not listed at TresCom's Utilities page, however many more useful and interesting utilities can be found there.
TresEd - The Trespasser Level Editor
If you don't have this already, download it! Not only is it necissary for level creation and editing, but it can also be used to view Trespasser levels in higher detail than the Trespasser engine can provide
TPDC - Trespasser Dinosaur Creator
Can be used to turn static models into dinosaurs by manually attaching bone templates used by the various dinosaurs in Trespasser
Used for importing models into Trespasser levels. Models must be in .3DS or .TPM format
Used for importing or replacing sounds in Trespasser Audio Files
Old SMK Tools
Used to convert AVI files to Tresspaser-Compatible SMK's.
ASA Export Script for 3DSMAX*
Generates .asa scripts from keyframed animations in a 3DSMAX scene. Generated .asa scripts can be executed by scripts in levels
TPM Import Script for 3DSMAX*
Imports TPM format models into 3DSMAX
TPM Export Script for 3DSMAX*
Exports a 3DSMAX scene into the "Trespasser Model Format," ideal for importing models into Trespasser
* Installing a Max Script (.ms) file
Installing a Max Script is quite easy.
Just place .ms files in your C:/3dsmax##/scripts folder
## represents your current version number, ex. "42" = "3DSMAX Version 4.2"
Once you've done this, fire up 3DSMAX and...
1. Click the Utilities tab (little hammer on the far right). A list of new options will appear below.
2. Click MAXScript. More options will appear.
3. Click "Run Script," and a window should show up showing the contents of the Scripts Folder.
4. Click on the script you're looking to run.
5. You're done!
Hope this helps! Those more experienced members should try out the new utilities and plugins listed here, including TPDC and the ASA script maker, which have not yet been utilized outside of TC-Isle.
