there's a tscript value that literally makes you drop whatever you're holding. it's been over 20 years and no one has made a level with location triggers everywhere that make you drop weopons/keycards or what have you? I'm slightly disappointed and feel the need to make a unnecessarily difficult level that involves anne's noodle arm dropping everything.

Re: Butterfingers, 32 = "CControlPlayerAction"
huh, that is interesting. I guess some of us modders have not used this ActionType yet because Anne has a hard time holding objects regardless of a trigger or not But, seeing this ActionType and testing it in game, makes me wonder what exactly this could be used for. Perhaps Anne gets into a scripted earthquake that makes her drop an object? that would be cool to see ingame. Maybe while walking through a wooded area, you hear a loud noise in the brush and Anne drops her gun out of fear?

I don't think anyone has used it as it has a very limited use.
I would guess the use might have been cutscenes or specific events (like jumping the cliff in IJ).

Huh, TresGuy I like your idea. I have some notion of navigating a flat maze where held objects are dropped and fall through the floor if the right navigation is not successful. The woods idea sounds great with a distant scripted Rex roar as MSR likes to do.
Re: Butterfingers, 32 = "CControlPlayerAction"
Didn't you use it in your experiment with a certain gun, Drac? When going to reload it, I mean...

Re: Butterfingers, 32 = "CControlPlayerAction"
Hmm. I don't remember if I did, however I can safely say the end result does not use it. Rather the previous gun version is teleported away, and a new gun brought to the ground in front of the Player. If I tested the AT, I forget.
Re: Butterfingers, 32 = "CControlPlayerAction"
No idea what they may have intended this particular action for.
I've thought about using this action in the past to randomly have the player drop their weapon when they get hit, considering Anne would probably be in a lot of pain considering a dinosaur just took a chunk out of her.

I usually drop my gun when a raptor attacks
Fumble, fumble, scaarraa, fumble fumble, scaarrara.
Blump, hit the ground sideways

Being disarmed by raptors is one of my favored events in the game.

Maybe they were thinking of adding "artificial/fake difficulty" to the game only to realize it wasn't really needed at the time of release. or maybe Anne is perfectly capable of dropping her gun without the need of a trigger.
Re: Butterfingers, 32 = "CControlPlayerAction"
Sounds like one of those too-realistic-to-be-fun-for-a-game features that would just piss people off.
I think Trespasser already had enough of that going for it.
