This year is beginning to look very bright indeed. Jurassic Park: Aftermath, a former Half-Life 2 mod, just returned to the living and posted a beautiful update on youtube:
Odd, I don't remember this being a Half-Life 2 mod... Did I miss that part of the development?

Oh and I saw where one person said this is Universal's position on using Jurassic Park imagery, logos, story elements, etc:
Quote:
"Using assets (storylines, logos, imagery, etc) from the Jurassic Park franchise would be a violation of Universal Studios rights (thus illegal - regardless if the venture is for profit or non-profit). The proper procedure would be for a 3rd party to approach us for a licensing agreement (which would include financial guarantees) to secure usage of a Universal Studios owned property."
Generally, however, I find that companies really only throw the C+D hammer around in two scenarios: 1 - They are making something like that themselves (IE: ChrisDoucette's Jurassic Park Game VS TellTale's Jurassic Park The Game) or 2 - They are informed of a usage of a trademark. Trademarks can be lost if they are not protected, as such once their legal team learn of something they will C+D anyone using a trademarked element. Names, logos, characters, etc are all trademarks of the brand.
Your project might run into legal trouble later in development though, some legal teams like to sit and wait until just before the project is released and then WHAM C+D.
