I can picture the newspaper headline and quote of Hammond's response..

Traces of disgruntled workers "DNA" found in Hammond's own brand coleslaw!

"Oh.. traces of DNA, where did you come from?"

Will this project include long grass that I shouldn't enter?

Ah, I know, slightly-necro post, but I completely missed this thread a while ago. Only just read through most of it now, and this is awesome work! Looks really great so far. :)

:| This mod is impossibly cool. I can't believe you got the buildings looking so accurate so quickly! Where is this project at now? Oh and as for no one making towns... didn't JPDS have a small town area? Up in the mountains.

Well, JPDS had a small one road strip with a few buildings along it. I guess you could call it a town... This is more sprawling in its scale.

I'm actually on a hiatus from it, I find that I work faster if I work on something until I'm bored with it then pick up something else until I get the spark of wanting to work on it again rather than trying to stick with one thing.

Have you considered making the final version set a night? It would be a way to justify a little fog and it would remind people of the movie scene. Win win.

I'm actually going to redesign the entire layout. I have reasons I cannot yet divulge (It would spoil something a fellow admin has in store for the future, as it is based on it)...

It likely wouldn't be using ATX's night as that version all the 24bit opacity maps for the windows glow in the dark slightly... At least in my experience.... It would likely have to be sometime just after sundown (when everything is still somewhat blueish out yet dark) instead of straight up night to work.

Here's the new layout design... Just a basic concept for what I want to do. The concept is that the structures farther from the city center are the newer structures. It's also spaced out more to save Trespasser from rendering tons of stuff and bogging down the framerate. I had some crashing issues in the last version of the level do to adding in some new models, too many polygons rendered for structures in the distance.

This allows some set up for construction sites throughout the town area. Plus, as indicated by the layout above, I intend on making an "old lab" structure as well, which will be based on the concept work from the Lost World (which was eventually turned into the Operations Building). The buildings, while having similar styling, are different enough that they can be separate structures. It especially works with the consistency being passed on to the entrance of the main lab in JP3. It could be a standard design theme for main buildings.

Another plan is that the Dinosaur Boneyard area (The open area to the left) was originally the Atherton Park, which has a playground and other stuff in it which will add to the eeriness of it.

This is all in concept of course, anyone can make any suggestions or offer their opinions on it.

You could also have a starry night with a full moon, that can be as bright as dusk in a place without light pollution like site B would be. Plus all the stars and moon in the sky would look cool.

Hey Sam, awesome work here!! I bet this is the most accurate 3D model of the Ops Center ever created. And damn I love Hammond's  I guess you never released any of this?

Hammond's. Sparing no expense since 1928. Now open late!

This building was originally planned to be a Denny's but by the time they made the model it was more based on the old McDonald's design... It was meant to be a statement on the spread of western culture. Not willing to risk trademark police I decided to dress it up a bit :P That logo cracks me up everytime I see it
Hey Sam! Is there any chance we could get this model for use in the Hammond memorial?
