Weapons, map or standalone?

Post by Markosaur »

Ok small question, if one were to remodel all the Trespasser weapons to hi-poly ones, would one have to edit every single level file or could one create a master file that overrides all the other weapon models?

You'd have to edit each single level.

I'm not sure, however, if just replacing the master mesh for each weapon would also automatically replace all other instances... I think (and hope) it does.

Well, obviously it does but the problem is it has the tendency to screw up the hold/shoulder-hold magnets for all the copies. Something to do with the instance numbers being lower than the master instance.. so they're not loaded when they need to be.. I'm not sure. It's risky, but you could try it. Just be sure and do back ups, of course.
