How big is the level going to be? :o

And with the terrain texture, the best way to change the palette is to use Wally (included in Trespasser Twilight, if you're using that). But if you're still going to stick with that texture (It does really look like a quite nice gravel texture), then be sure to add plenty of rocks in the area as well.

Well even though I love exploration levels myself, I don't want it to seem like an endless walk of flat surface xD. Even I don't like that =P. Most of the level is surrounded by mountains, with some hilly/flat sections inside of it. I plan to fix that later on when I get the essential formations done.

I like focusing on the AI, the 'eye candy' and the overall vibe in the map. I'm not very good with really complex puzzles. But, I do have a few 'search' puzzles planned (i.e, searching for scattered objects in a specific area in order to get across a gap or something).

But, Isn't being Anne a challenge enough? I can at least give her a break ;3.

The most important thing while working with Trespasser is to take everything slow. Don't rush, spend time learning things. Palettes took me years to learn (before Wally).

Thanks for the advice tatu ^^.

Anyways, I thought the level should have a big, scary, and ferocious boss at the end! Wouldn't that be awesome!?

But no, I decided on cute scaled-down raptors instead.

Welp everyone, I finally finished the beta of the level.

Now why is it a beta? Well, the level is done in my opinion. BUT, there is always room for improvement! So, I'm willing to add additional
puzzles/areas if anyone has any suggestions to make the level more interesting ouo.

Welp, with the level out, I'd thought I'd try searching for Beta 96 again. Now I know you've ALL been hearing this as of recently, but, that beta is nowhere to be found. All torrents are broken, any download of it is a 404 error. And the worst part of it all, you can't buy it ;n;. I know the principles of providing a download link of the Beta on this site is a big 'no no'. And I can perfectly understand why that's a rule. I just hate my luck though xD. If I was about two years earlier on finding out about it, I could of enjoyed it already like everyone else.

*sigh*, oh well. All hope Isn't lost yet I guess. Hopefully someone puts it up on some file sharing site again soon.

Edit: I managed to dig deep into google and find it xD. Oh well, my worries are over~

Yeah, I've tried it xP. But, the files are straight up broken! I can never open them in winrar, Poweriso, or anything! There is not one program I can find that can open them xD.

I swear, bad luck seems to want to stick to me xD. When I try to run the Beta, it gives me this error- "This version of Trespasser requires an Intel PentiumPro/Pentium II processor."

Edit: I think I fixed it, but right when It's ready to launch, it says- "Windows cannoy access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access this item".

Edit: Nm, I got it working ouo~.

Now I'm rather curious about something. Is there a way to get ATX to work with the beta?

It is possible to use ATX to play Beta levels, but it will lack the difference between the beta and retail .exe's.

So, for those who've downloaded, how are you all liking the level so far? I'd love to know.

I tried it.

It is better than your last, but an amazing level it is not.

A list of things I didn't like (that I can remember)

1. Floating objects and trees
2. Unrealistic puzzles
3. Not enough puzzles
4. Too difficult to know where to go
5. Not Trespasser-y enough, no Hammond/Anne quotes, nothing JP-related
6. Not enough weapons (only found the rifle at the beginning, which was bugged)
7. Not enough terrain detail in some places
6. Lack of realistic environment (rocks were way too small, not enough trees)

Things I liked:

1. Use of dinosaurs, loved the Giganotosaurus and T-Rex fight!
2. Overall terrain shape
3. Gravel terrain (although a bit overused)

Tips I can provide:

1. Test the levels you make
2. Increase the variety of environment
3. Provide some puzzles (not just simple keycard ones)
4. Learn to use terrain editor
5. Make the level feel that it is on the island, provide references to other locations/works
6. Take constructive criticism, provide many images for feedback
7. Take things slow, good Trespasser levels take weeks, if not months or even years.

Feel free to ask questions! :)

Ty for the advice ^u^. Like I said I plan to fix the level up after getting some good feedback on what to add/fix. Although the puzzle thing always kind of got to me with Trespasser. Even in the retail levels, there was not a lot of constructive puzzles to begin with. You just can't really DO that sort of thing in Trespasser.
But, I can look into it ^^.

And yes, levels in any game, especially one like Trespasser take a while. A LONG while in order to be good. And that's what I planned to do with this level. But, I knew there would be some major gaps with it, even if I spent a year on it. So, I figured I'd put the basics in, such as the layout and such and see what people could find wrong with it =3. And I thank you for all the suggestions! I'll be sure to give you all a holler if I have any trouble!~
