The trespasser work is long over,I tried the game out a few days ago and it so sluggish and static feeling compared to my newer work.It was good learning but other than a few models it's not really salvageable.

Ah, understood. Too bad about the Trespasser work; but, your new work is brilliant. Looking forward to more.

Btw, thanks for the quick reply- seems like there are long "dead" spells around here.

Working on getting the emergency bunker in now,it's been a total nightmare in Cryengine. It needs a weird setup for interiors where its within a area basically to cut out all light.I had to change the model a few times to get it working but should have some images soon and then it's on to modelling the props for inside and the power shed.

Thanks. This is a gallery of the more recent stuff for anyone not into facebook http://imgur.com/a/2pgN2 it's progressed even since some of these.Last few weeks have been moving pretty fast but I get the feeling it might slow down for a bit because of some work I have.

Here's some footage of last weeks progress on those buildings, still a lot of landscaping need was just getting them into position.

This year is beginning to look very bright indeed. Jurassic Park: Aftermath, a former Half-Life 2 mod, just returned to the living and posted a beautiful update on youtube:
Odd, I don't remember this being a Half-Life 2 mod... Did I miss that part of the development? :P

Oh and I saw where one person said this is Universal's position on using Jurassic Park imagery, logos, story elements, etc:
"Using assets (storylines, logos, imagery, etc) from the Jurassic Park franchise would be a violation of Universal Studios rights (thus illegal - regardless if the venture is for profit or non-profit). The proper procedure would be for a 3rd party to approach us for a licensing agreement (which would include financial guarantees) to secure usage of a Universal Studios owned property."
Generally, however, I find that companies really only throw the C+D hammer around in two scenarios: 1 - They are making something like that themselves (IE: ChrisDoucette's Jurassic Park Game VS TellTale's Jurassic Park The Game) or 2 - They are informed of a usage of a trademark. Trademarks can be lost if they are not protected, as such once their legal team learn of something they will C+D anyone using a trademarked element. Names, logos, characters, etc are all trademarks of the brand.

Your project might run into legal trouble later in development though, some legal teams like to sit and wait until just before the project is released and then WHAM C+D.

I have to apologise! For whatever reason I must have confused you with these guys: http://www.jurassic-life.com/

Honestly though, cool stuff - so keep it going!

I understand the legal issues,I think a lot of the mods that got c+d might be just saying that (or they approached the company and got told no).I'm not too worried given I've been working on JP game stuff for like 2 years now or something but I get the feeling if one project gets shut down then others will too (Jurassic life and the origins fan film I guess are the most visible) of course with the new film coming out you never know.

I hadn't heard of ChrisDoucette's Jurassic Park Game, did it ever have any images or footage? Just found some -http://www.moddb.com/forum/thread/chara ... hemed-game

What you see there is pretty much what his team had done over the course of a couple years. He didn't want to go any further without contacting Universal directly and asking them if it was OK or to see if they could get a license. I assume the guy who told you the legal statement was a part of his team since they were using CryEngine 2. He did have a short term release of his stuff, but took it down within a couple of days if I remember right.

That was like 4 years ago though. It wasn't long after that when Universal first teased the official game, so I assume that the reason why the got told not to do it was because of the TellTale game.
