On a mural note does anyone have the one from the cafe back wall? I found one version but its small/fuzzy,maybe someone here has a better version?
Here's the brachiosaur mural I stitched together from various sources, you can probably remake it in better quality with this basic outline:

There's a good shot of it in the scene where Grant leaves the kids in the cafeteria just before the kitchen scene as well:

And you should ask hppav about the cafe mural; I'm fairly certain he has the mural in full since it was in his VC. :)

Well, the version I have in the Visitor Center level I didn't like too much, so I made another one... The digital download of Jurassic Park that I got from buying the steel book collector's edition had a wider view of the mural in that shot and was a bit higher quality so it looked a lot less pixelated, so I was able to redo it.

Here's the version that Draco had made originally for JPO:

And here's the version that I just made today:

EDIT: And here's the shot that shows the ceiling around the fans, btw. I forgot to post that in the other thread for you. I kinda cheated by making it a texture instead of a mesh to save polygons:

Very good work, btw. Just noticed the screenshots on the last page  Looks pretty cool.

EDIT 2: Oh and the whole Jurassic Genetics thing... Olivanic Černá - a guy who does Jurassic Park related 3D work - added me on Facebook a few months ago and linked to an article he wrote about it. I'll admit that I hadn't followed JG for a while because I was fully expecting a Cease and Desist order by now.... But that whole thing is a mess. Part of why I use the "You can use my stuff, just credit me for it" philosophy when it comes to my models/textures/etc.

I'm wondering if I might make those ceiling panels a separate object and put them in.With cryengine if you change then re-export an object you have to totally re-shade it,I must've re-shaded the visitor center interior 10 times and its such a pain to do.Just out of interest is that screengrab from the blueray or making of? I totally cant see it in my version at all, double checked it but the cameras too low on mine (makes me wonder what else I'm missing)...dam it looks like the spot lights are on the beams too! I thought my ceiling looked really too much wood and dark to be honest.

I checked out my mural on the glass, looks like I saved uv space by making the brachio panel just part of the middle raptor part (so its not got any of its own uv's and would need re-mapped)..yeah I cant see me doing it.The rotunda room is pretty much frozen in my level so I don't have to touch the mesh any more.

The full screen version of Jurassic Park, if you can track it down, some shots have more vertical image compared to the widescreen. I have a collection of full screen screenshots to compare with my widescreen digital copy. The digital copy I got with the DVD/BluRay doesn't show it either.

And I totally didn't notice the lights on the beams themselves either,

That one screenshot threw me right off but my insomnia's in full force so attacked the thing, had to re-shade the lot though and still have to move all the tables around.
The scale is a little off towards the kitchen for sure but if I keep messing with it will bug myself, need to do all the props then take another look at it.
I never put the lights on the beams,I'm not sure if thats what I'm seeing or not lol,I do think the ceiling panels are probably lights right?,tried a glow on them and it looks good but ruins the atmosphere a bit.

Looking at the digital download version, it looks like what you see on the beam along the gift shop is a reflection of light from above, with the small light fixtures that are mounted around the edge of the restaurant. The beam that goes in front of the rear mural, though, does appear to have lights on the bottom of it...

I did find it a tad bit odd that the restaurant lacked lighting in the middle of it, especially for such a big room. You might be right about the lighted panels, or it could be an oversight from the set design crew... It looks like the majority of the light in that scene in the movie is coming from the windows. With the VC facing north and those windows facing west, it looks later in the day than the exterior shots at the helipad when they are leaving, but it is in line with the sunset shot at the very end...

I know what you mean about the sunlight direction,I'm actually faking it by putting a light outside the patio that is only on the visitor center interior layer. You can see that's the light causing the chair shadows,I tried to pick one that will work day and night and is a similar tone.
Still got to do all the patio and stuff,I could've spent like 3 days on the pillars alone but they really should be done in zbrush .I don't think could take that sort of time on this work or I would never progress, glad this rooms in though the visitor center needed it.

Hey, look what I found, the full rear mural:

Image

Looks like it's an edit of a Picasso work called Guernica:

I saw that one the other day, shame its not larger version.Ended up adding the 2nd version you posted to the wall, its not too bad at that scale and once all the stuffs in front of it will be totally fine.
Not a lot of progress today, added some of the corner props like the couch and tables plus put in the planters and moved stuff around a bit.The patio will be a separate import I think with walls of some sort.

thanks, progress is coming to a standstill again for a couple of weeks at least.Bit of a shame as I was really getting into doing the dining room and all the little props. You can see some of the ones I was starting to add,a lot of photoshopping to try and get similar designs and still had to add pyjamas and stuffed toys.
