The Trespasser Frontier (A Tres Blog)

THE TRESPASSER FRONTIER

One of the things, that I got around to a fair bit in my off-computer time, was to write up texts about Trespasser in pencil. It was and still is incredibly satisfying. Now that I'm on this small laptop, I'm compelled to post some of these as the start of a new Trespasser-focused blog. It's going to include analysis of the game, Tres level theories, Tres dev stuff, etc. At some point I plan to associate it with my ongoing plan to catalogue all Trespasser objects. Hold on to your butts.

Quite like the way your first post dealt with the Pine Valley gate in concept, and how you mentioned its use in fan levels as well. I always like to see the way something obscure can develop to go so far as projects like JPDS from humble beta beginnings.

I wonder if anyone else would be interested in writing for this blog as well? I know there are a few others who are very into this sort of Trespasser analysis.

Thanks TI. I wasn't sure about fan-level inclusion but I believe, like in this article, it's worth mentioning as extensions of analysis on original Tres. And then who knows, in the future I might do deeper reviews on some fan levels.

Hmmm, additional writers for the blog. Well if anyone is interested let me know. That could be fun.

Neat! I always believed that the road seen in the 3ds Max file was used as a guide to where the monorail was going to be placed.
Similar to how Build 32/55 used the monorail support parts for it (as they go to the waterfall as well).

My mistake. It is in the MAX version of JR. There are monorail pillars going from the "gorge" area towards the waterfall.

Just read through your latest posts. I like your analysis of each level, although of course the veterans among us already know a fair bit about the different versions. Interested to hear what your take on Plains is, if you bring it up.
One thing I can offer for potential improvement is that I would like to hear more of your own thoughts on the things in your posts - right now you're giving us the basic rundown of each level, but I think it would be both interesting and potentially inspiring to know more about what you think or have considered about some of the different things you mention, such as the different IJ and JR versions.

Neat! Just wanted to say I always read your posts with great interest, I love how you describe how the levels have changed during development, one level at a time. It makes it very easy to understand and I can only imagine the knowledge, research and exploration of previous builds and other information that goes into this. I read and see many things in your posts I never knew and that really motivate me to explore some of the earlier builds myself. Thank you so much for bringing all this knowledge into a very digestible form.

TI, thanks that is good input. I have gone about these so far in a basic narrator position, but what you suggest would add a nice element I think.

Thank you wohoyefe! It's good to know the newer generation getting into the sea of Tres analysis.
