Well, you can certainly tell the difference. So, I guess now scallenger will have to work on yet another version of Jurassic Time...james_uk wrote:Two tests to demonstrate differences:

The UberDuck.AI version shows a massive improvement in terms of how cleaner and how much fuller the audio sounds. As such, I'd strongly recommend use of the Uberduck.AI version for anyone that wishes to produce any content using the John Parker Hammond voice. The difference is literally night and day. The worst of the "electronic" phasing that you hear on the original colab version doesn't appear to happen in the uberduck version.

One of my all time favorite cut lines from Hammond's script. It sounds awesome, and the last part sounds so authentic!
https://drive.google.com/file/d/11lftWf ... sp=sharing
I have no idea how but the AI actually made him saying "Deinonychus" sound sinister. Of course I had to spell it out phonetically as "Dinonikiss"
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oCi1Uz ... sp=sharing
Another example of Hammond saying a complex dinosaur name that would sound great in a custom level
I'm having way too much fun with this

Those are quite good, I still get the impression that he gets "tired" after a few words, though.

While I am happy there is an improved version of the program, I won't be redoing it anytime soon at this point, if ever. Especially since there is already an improved version this quickly. The next time, it could be flawless. I also just have to focus my time back on more pressing things, unfortunately.machf wrote:Well, you can certainly tell the difference. The UberDuck.AI version; while cleaner - sounds a lot less like him IMO.

Now that I have had time to play with it, I actually agree. Cleaner, but oddly doesn't sound like him. Now I feel a bit better about having already used the other version, heh.

I just found the uberduck site through different means, then came here, and I see you guys found it. It's fun to play around with.

Re: Fan-Made AI That Says Anything As John Hammond
So, two things:
The second UberDuck version I guess doesn't work anymore at all? It just takes me to a page to sign up for the website.
https://uberduck.ai/#voice=john-parker-hammond
As for the original one, at the link below, it now has an error immediately when you try to set it up. It appears to say that something needs to be updated in the program itself. I actually tried setting this up just on my end but it had no effect. I guess the person who created this program has to install it into the program themselves?

ValueError: Tensorflow 1 is unsupported in Colab.
Your notebook should be updated to use Tensorflow 2.

Re: Fan-Made AI That Says Anything As John Hammond
Having tested the 2nd Uberduck Version, it goes straight in as long as you create an account on the site. Voice generation works normally. I've had an account for quite some time on there now but I can't say for sure if accounts have become required on Uberduck.
As for the Colab, I can't fix that as I only modified the back end of it to redirect to the Hammond. I have no technical understanding of the many inner workings of coding.

Oh okay, good to know! Thank you!
And aww I see. That's a shame about the Colab version. But at least we still have something.
EDIT: This is the new UberDuck link: https://app.uberduck.ai/speak#mode=tts- ... er-hammond

Re: Fan-Made AI That Says Anything As John Hammond
Hi guys this has just gotten even easier. There is a website called fakeyou.com where you can choose from loads of voices, among others John Hammond. Just input your text in the text field and start. I found the result to sound a little bit metallic at times but mostly really good actually. You can then use a free audio editing software like Audacity to add a reverb to it if you want it to sound like in Trespasser
A radio. A phone? A can with a string?

Re: Fan-Made AI That Says Anything As John Hammond
Had an old account here on the forums years ago but forgot the login, anyways, there is this AI voice website/service that is called ElevenLabs. The results are absolutely insane and on a whole other level than previous voice generators.
https://beta.elevenlabs.io/speech-synthesis
Here's a youtube video using Patrick Batemans voice from american psycho and the results are crazy good in my opinion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPtqRn0Nm9Q (It's just some 4chan shitpost but still...)
I think that for 5$ a month you get up to 5 custom voices that you can generate, It would be awsome to hear how well John Hammonds voice is recreated using this AI. Maybe it's good enough to be used in a new expanded Jurassic Time? Defintely real potential in this one...
Here is another example of Obi Wan rambling on about something: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Xqw11NPC40

Welcome to the site, FluffyTwisty!
That Obi-Wan clip you posted is legitimately hilarious. I'm in agony from laughing so hard (I've currently got cracked ribs). The AI is indeed impressive, this is probably the first time I've heard an AI voice that could pass as a real person. Kind of scary, actually...it's as if Alec Guiness is still alive.
I would like to see Hammond and Anne added as it would provide endless amounts of new dialogue - but at the same time, stuff like that sort of takes away from the magic of actually having Richard Attenborough reading the lines. It's him but also not quite him. AI continues to freak me out.
