So, since some time ago there was some discussion about the location of some early screenshots, and I've just been able to retieve copies of some of my old images (which were on my old, old laptop before I copied them to my PC's HDD, before it died earlier this year), I'm uploading all of them on this topic, rather than looking for whichever one it was were it was being originally discussed...

Oh nice! We should compare the IJ ones with the E3 build at some point.
That last image of the LAB in 3ds Max. I always thought that was fan-made, as the name of it I always had was "DrShawsObsession", and that it appears to be lacking stuff like triggers etc, and the name of the file itself that doesn't follow other namings, and that it is the retail version.

Wow, nice. Never seen the black and white lab image or the crane one with the magnifying glass (page3shot2Image22.jpg). Where is that one from anyway, looks like something out of Minecraft with the colors and how pixelated it is.

Hmm, one of those old images has powerlines..! As I recall none of the builds we have from 96 or lower have those (I haven't looked at the others), yet it has the crane at Gravel Hill...

It's an enlarged thumbnail from an archived preview, the original image couldn't be retrieved...MinePass wrote:Wow, nice. There are still more images I haven't uploaded yet, I decided to take a break at that point as I wanted to attend to some other things...

That last black-and-white image of GMAX is a bit odd in my opinion, only because it shows the "final" version of LAB as in the released version. All the other versions of LAB we have don't have that extra little bit with the T. Rex at the beginning, even up to B96, so it makes me wonder if perhaps it's just an image of someone unrelated to the developer team having exported the whole level to GMAX.

Remember the postmortem was written AFTER the game was relased... so it's expected that those images will be from the retail version.
