Haha ! I have been aware of that moveable fallen palm since about 5 years after joining TresCom... It is a special survivor of what Tres might have been, in the retail game. My nephew dispatches his team.

I tried to do a melee only run of the game. Managed to get to the town only using melee and environmental kills. I managed to kill a few raptors with the big hammer and the rebar. The most useful weapon I found was the cattle prod. I even managed to kill a raptor with a skull, although it took me awhile

Yeah I'm not sure what happened there but I swear the bugs in this game make it so much more interesting!

Just watched the video. Quite amusing the tree one... XD I must also say, I've never gone around with the wrench-shaped prod before. Does it usually kill instantly? I heard years ago that one of the two different prods in IT was broken but I don't recall the details.

It seems to kill instantly if you hit the raptor in the mouth. Very hit and miss though. Its a massive shame that the mace is right at the end of a level as I could imagine taking on all the dinos with that thing.

Metal rebar was quite useful as it hits quite well and anne can actually swing it.

I am a big fan of the small rebar piece, tho I get pretty upset when the forest or jungle has no wood sticks available...

Didn't jumping on a raptor negate all fall damage for Anne? I seem to remember being able to do this in the demo. Don't remember if it hurt the raptor, though.

I'm pretty late to this discussion, but can name off a few melee weapons I found to be effective in my melee runs of the game. Skulls, rocks, (some) emptied long arm weapons such as the hunting rifle, pieces of rebar, and the common box are some to name a few. To really damage a dinosaur with more blunt objects like rocks and skulls you can swing it, but throwing them is better. Longer things such as the long fire arms you'll want to bring to the far left or right side of your screen. Then hold spacebar for less than a second when a raptor comes close. As constantly holding spacebar does not create enough power to do damage most of the time. Whereas doing a one time bash per creates a much more predictable outcome. Takes practice but can be super satisfying vs doing nothing but shooting all the time. :P
