Okay I have to admit, the redirecting of the TresCom logo is starting to get a little annoying... :? I'm clicking it like, every single time first, then going back to click the proper link.. Would be much better to have a "Mainpage" link along with the Memberlist, Usergroups etc. links..

I couldn't agree more...

Edit:

Ideas for improvements on the website (some stuff has been mentioned already):

Add all the "new" concept art images and pre-renders or whatever they're called. You guys know what I mean.

Contacts, hilwo@hotmail.com is no longer valid, can be changed to gelmirpalantir@hotmail.com. Not that anyone will contact me, but let's just say, for the sake of correct-ness :p Is that a word?

Creations section could be a little more clear, a section for the TC level and TC-Isle.

People could make lots of new screenshots so that the screenshots section can be updated. Maybe have the site randomly select a shot from there every week.

History could be updated, so much has happened... (ATX)

I'm all for adding another Trespasser section, call it Trespasser custom or whatever... and add sub-sections for new weapons, levels, new dinosaurs, vehicles, animals etc. This will make clear what is available these days, and what was officially released by DW and what was created by TresCom members.

Easter eggs article could use updating. The awesome egg in the Ops centre is missing.

Cheats could be updated, add atx cheats with an asterisk behind them or something, or just add an atx section to the website.

Remove links to dead fansites and forums.

That's about all I can think of right now...

But that logo doesn't say "TresCom Forums", it says "TresCom", so it's logical that it should link to the TresCom homepage... I'd say it was more annoying to click on it and find out it didn't.

Personally, I've always used the links in thick white letters to navigate the forum structure. Why go all the way up if there's a link that's closer?

Think of the n00bs before thinking of your set in ways. You'll get accustomed to it eventually.

Why should wé get used to it? I think the logos of most forums
link back to the index of the forums. Think of the regular members
before thinking of your set in ways. The new users will get used to
it from the very start. It's been linking back to the forum index
since 2002. Why change it after all that time?

As machf said, it says "TresCom" not "TresCom Forums" There is currently no link to TresCom on the forums, thus anyone visiting would think that the big thing in the corner saying "TresCom" links to the site but then find themselves on the index of the forums. You have to remember, most people aren't really smart, only a small percentage.

You're thinking in terms of "so what", average joe thinks of terms of "literalness" Most new members are average joes more then they are forum goers.

I think tabbed browsing would help, keep the index in one tab, middle button click on links.

And how would users first find the forum, and not the website?

I searched for Trespasser at Yahoo. The 6th item was the TresCom
website. I've checked until page 10, the forums are nowhere to be
seen.

Narrow your search down somewhat, like "Trespasser Level Editing" first link you get is this one:
http://trescom.3dactionplanet.gamespy.c ... php?t=3724

Why would someone be searching "Trespasser Level Editing"? Probably to try to find TSOrd's site or whatever.

If people search for TSord's site, why not search for "Trespasser"?
I seriously doubt that when searching for TSord's website, people
will search for "Trespasser Level Editing". Anyone who remembers
TSord's website will search for "Trespasser" of "Trespasser Secrets"...

I also doubt that people who haven't played Trespasser for ages
will even consider the possibility that a community excists that has
made several levels and improvements on the game. Therefore,
I think it makes more sense that they'd look up "Trespasser".

But anyway, I'm done with this. I don't agree and in my opinion
it is incredibly annoying though.
