Picasa from Google

Post by Dapper Dan »

I'm happy to see Google is all over Linux in a big way! The Linux version of GooglEarth was a pleasant surprise, and they've added support for Picasa! If you haven't yet tried it (on Windows or Linux), Picasa will find every image on your hard drive(s) and catalog them according to date! Potentially a very handy program for TresCom members. :)

You might already know it, but Picasa for Linux is not a Linux-native application -- it uses Wine internally, and even includes its own version of Wine with it. :o

I don't quite understand the technical details. Some info can be found at http://www.winehq.com/?issue=314
