Re: Paper Modelling
I discovered a nifty tool called Pepakura. It can turn 3D models into paper models! To test it out I turned one of my (previously unseen except by Draco) models, a sign for the Jungle River Cruise (which goes in one of the late JPO levels, level 4 I believe).
I plugged it into Pepakura, printed it onto cardstock, cut it out and glued it together:
I can see lots of papercraft InGen crates and toolsheds being made! Note: The more pieces, the more complex your model will be. Plus, being Japanese, the tool uses millimeters/centimeters instead of inches. You can set the assembled height to any height you want it to be. Plus it also automatically imports the textures and UVW mapping. I recommend only using low poly models (like.. under a 1000) because of how complex it will get.

Imagine making a to-scale East Dock sign for a toy diorama :O

Is there some software to do the reverse process?

Re: Paper Modelling
OK – so who is going to be the first to upload some PDFs with various Trespasser dinosaurs available for paper crafting?

LMAO! It's a race! .......I'm too busy! XD
I think a better question is, who's going to be the first one to finish putting one together and post a pic..

Re: Paper Modelling
Woah, nice Draco and hppav . The paper models I had looked like crap, and was therefore trashed .
Oh! I have a book about how to model paper-planes! Maybe I could make up one and take a pic of it? .

Re: Paper Modelling
lol, yeah, the first model I attempted to do this to was the model I've been working on recently that you've been hinting at on these forums lately I think it was like 260 sheets or something and I was likeDraconisaurus wrote:Duuuude. Re: Paper Modelling
Jeeez!! X_X
And thanks Anna. :3 Sure make one if you want - but only if you want. You have plenty of other things to do. You might more enjoy making a papercraft dino, if you can print it on the right kind of paper...
