PV - The huge dead dinosaur skeletion

Post by tatu »

It's wierd that no one hasen't posted anything about this.
Anyway, me and Draco when to site B. We went by helicopter.. and flew over PV when we came across this beauty on a hillside:

Image

A huge dead dinosaur. It was all gone, eaten by dinosaurs, only the big skeletion remain. Both Draco and I wanted to get down and checked it, but both agreed that it was too dangerous since we saw raptors lurking nearby. We would come back another day.

Yeah, If I'm not mistaken, that's the alternate path I took one time. I found a similar skeleton like that near a nest full of Raptors on a large hill side.

What species is it? Mamenchisaurus? Or Apatosaurus?

Hey now, what's all this then?!? There is a Czech fanbase for Trespasser? Fascinating.

And yeah here are all those hunters - http://nd02.blog.cz/516/997/91dcb7133a_58673959_o2.jpg

Oh and the object names reveal that it is a Brontosaurus. Combined with the Allosaur skull, it seems the devs who made the bones were either working with a much older list of dinosaurs for the game, or they were just making whatever they fancied..

I think some previews said there was supposed to be an Allosaur, but maybe they decided they had enough carnivores.

Yes, but it's not as popular as Trescom. Trescom was a big inspiration for me.

True, but there is no such thing as a Brontosaurus. Brontosaurus was an incorrect name given to an Apatosaurus species. But that doesn't make it an Apatosaurus, back when Apatosaurus was known as Brontosaurus, it had incorrectly been portrayed with the skull of a Camarasaurus instead of it's proper skull. The in-game skull appears to be modeled after a Camarasaurus skull.
Canon wise, it's possibly a Camarasaurus/Apatosaurus hybrid created by InGen because they couldn't tell the DNA apart.

Uh :yum: The skull and some pieces use the term "bron(t)". I have been aware since elementary school about the mistake of Brontosaurus actually being Apatosaurus etc. IIRC, Brontosaurus means "thunder lizard", so I prefer its name, and the point here is what Trespasser calls it. Meaning, it is what we call Apatosaurus.

These are the "fresh" dino bone objects found in the retail and beta:
