Q and A with hppav!

Send me your questions here and I will answer them as best as I can :P No spoilers will be given and I will not tell you anything about what happens in the game or any locations not shown either in the movie or in my pre-release content. (This means that Hammond's Lodge, the Geo Plant, Windmill Plant, and all the movie locations are fair game in the Q and A section). Here's a map of Nublar that circles where the first level takes place:

Here's things I will confirm off the bat:

Level One will include the Visitor Center, Maintenance Shed, Raptor Pen, Gates, Windmill Power Station, and Hammond Lodge (as well as OTHER facilities that I wish to not mention yet :P)

Gameplay will be true Survival Horror. Logical puzzles using the environment, piecing a story together, focus on evasion rather than combat, very atmospheric.

Build number is currently 0 but hopefully we'll reach Build 1 by the end of January or mid February.

The team consists of:

hppav - Modeling, level design, puzzle design, game story and script, characters development, back story, marketing, textures, terrain, vegetation, and bringing elements together.
Draconisaurus - Consultation, vegetation (placement only), and someone to bounce ideas off of.
TheRaptorKiller - Additional scenery models

If anyone wants to become an active member of the team (modeling and textures preferably) let me know in the other thread pertaining to it.

You said you wont tell about any locations not in the movie but im wonderin if there will be locations from the book like the pterandon cage? I mean its a good to put that in there. you could make it a puzzle instead of fighting the pterandons because i know that would be immpossible to make but you could put in ones just flyin round like in tc isle. anyway sorry for postin long idea but the main post of this is just the first question. if there are locations from the book you dont have to post what they are just if there are locations or not.

It wouldn't be the park without a place for the Pteras to go :P

What makes you think there wasn't a aviary on Isla Nublar in the films? There's one in JP3 on Isla Sorna, the mural in the Ops Center shows that there are Pteranodons on Nublar.

UDPATE: Due to the sheer size of the levels and the fact that having them so large not only increases dev time but also decreases overall detail, I have divided up level one into three levels and calling it Act 1. JPO will still be released by level so you'll get the northern shore area of the above map first, the western shore second, and the VC compound area (inland) third. This is to ensure that you'll get something from this project in the next moth or two..

You're saying that the area surrounded in red on the above map is being split in 3?
Next month? :o I can't wait!
