The fence was actually fairly easy, it just took some work to put it together.

The Jeep, on the other hand, was very complicated and took a while to make (then a longer time to texture). I wouldn't recommend beginners to make organic models (Trees, animals) or vehicles. Buildings, on the other hand, are relatively simple as they are usually box shaped.

do you know if there are any online videos that show how to make a 3d model?

I've used Gmax to make models without any modeling experience. What I do is import say a wall, and then duplicate it and move it around and combine them together to create a building.

sounds like a really good idea, Thanks SI, I'll try that
and does the t-script stick with it or how do you get a t-script to a model.

t-script is written in a values.txt file that comes with models exported from TresEd (most can be edited directly in TresEd by selecting the object then hitting the V key.).

Also here are some tutorials for 3ds Max (which is a little different from gmax, but not too much different).

Hope these are useful ;)

I hope you don't mind me resurrecting this topic. I was just curious if this mod is still in the works? Exploring Nublar would be a dream come true!!

I'm sure it will eventually happen, some day on some engine.. now that JPMod has new management, that may actually be your surest bet. Now that Rex and I are no longer planning to make a new engine Tres: Reloaded, I'm not certain about Sam's intent for the mod.. he had been agreeing with us that it would be better suited for the new engine. I happen to have started the level files for it, which fit the entirety of Isla Nublar into a JPDS1+2-sized map.. I'll release it eventually if it becomes evident that there's no way we would finish it. Or perhaps it would be passed to a specific new team, if there is anyone brave enough, and clever enough to take it.. and return the keys to time.. perhaps the foundation of a new empire.

The mod is still in the works, check the Isla Nublar topic for my update (Heck, I'll make a new thread about the project and post a bunch of progress images).

btw, Draco. I have been working on it off and on for the past few months (this semester isn't very good at giving me time for much of anything however). It's back to the Trespasser Engine now.
