I remember taking screenshots of all those locations on the map for comparison, including that picture with the stone steps...

Re: Early screenshots location?

There has also been discussion in the past of the "View Building" screenshot being in this area as well, just outside the walls of the Geo Plant, but ultimately it seems these were never actually part of any proper levels and only their own "showcase terrains". No, the "Vie...

tatu wrote: Sun Mar 26, 2023 8:37 am That is pretty neat. I guess some of the stuff in the background is just backdrop, and not actual terrain. :)
No, I think we just happened to get a small slice from the actual (larger) terrain. Wondering if it may still exist somewhere...

Re: Early screenshots location?

Been doing some research... Remember the "phytestheightmap.raw" file? Well, it's an 80x80x8-bit matrix, which when rendered turns out to correspond to a tiny section of the "tarpit" as these images will show: https://www.trescom.org/wp-content/uploads/catablog/originals/image001....

Re: 2 Dinosaur release + New Dinosaur/ New Model uploads

This is pretty good looking! The head in particular looks pretty realistic. Hopefully you get your problems fixed with this one - the transparency issue with the teeth and jaw can be fixed by duplicating the vertices for those parts and flipping their normals as Trespasser doesn't render backfaces....

Re: In town and plains coming soon

Actually, what machf means is that the IT stuff (like the terrain) from the 3ds Max versions (15N/15R) is offset. If you import any of the retail/build 96 objects and retain their position, it will not be placed correctly with the 15N/15R terrain. So you will manually have to move everything after ...

Re: The (un)known missing levels.

Question I have is how do you rename the dinosaurs? I have resized them slowly and carefully and they all work properly I changed some property values. But they still have the same names. Wasn’t sure how to change the files name for them. For example I am making Dino children so could call trex bab...

Re: 2 Dinosaur release + New Dinosaur/ New Model uploads

Basically, you need to make a new "base" model with new parameters.

Re: Level ideas & concepts

Sounds interesting, have you tested that concept? I have not. In fact I don't know if anyone has ever tried making a proper rolling ball in-game. You'd need a lot of physics objects to try and make it "round". I'd go with the small rhombicuboctahedron... it just requires 9 right rectangul...
