Re: Texture bug
Had that problem on old PC (nvidia geforce 3). Solution was to install slightly older video drivers. Or, try random settings (maybe z-buffer-related) in your vid drivers' control panel.

Re: How to install and run Trespasser under Linux
You don't need the patcher, fact you shouldn't run it at all, just use the EXE from this: http://atx.trescom.org/trespassATX2.zip and make sure you're using the latest version of the atxxxx.zip (2.13) The mainscreen.ddf line makes it sound like either the wrong EXE got used/patched, or there's somet...

Re: GUIApp Discussion
Some places have objects with bool AI = false, so that dinos are not interpreting so MANY things and thus have an easier time of making choices (mainly noticed this in the Lab - I think they must have tried putting raptors in at some point and then gave up).. Yeah that *could* be an issue (there co...

Re: GUIApp Discussion
The ATX option to allow "dinos in buildings" turns OFF the ActGetOut action, meaning that dinosaurs may, as a result, be more prone to get stuck in regular objects. Just to clarify, that hack only disables the AI boxes, not the get out dino act (makes the game ignore the "AI" st...

Awesome someone's taking up this task for real. Good job on those individual utils (tried the PID one, beats hex-editing), and Godspeed.

Re: Various ATX troubles
Whoa whoa whoa. Awesome, thanks Red... I'll report any bugs I find here. EDIT: There's no reason I need to do it for all engines, is there..? Some of the fan-made stand-alones use various old ATXs, don't really feel like messing with them.. No, I meant all the ones you need this feature for or test...

Re: Various ATX troubles
Drac, replace all your ATX DLLs with this one: http://atx.trescom.org/ATYPEXDLL_209_ALPHA.zip All you have to do to make a LOCATION GROUP internally randomized is to add "bool R = true" to it (same place where the LoopCount is). Here's the script I used to test it with the demo today: grou...

Re: Various ATX troubles
Alright Drac, I'm gonna try to add that layer of randomization to AT114, if you're willing to hold off for a while.

Re: Various ATX troubles
I *think* I understand what you mean for AT114... You want the (x, y, z) locations inside the LOCATION groups to be randomized internally... Because AT114 only randomly selects a location group for the set of instances, but doesn't randomize the locations within that group, am I right?

Re: Various ATX troubles
Alright well, I haven't touched v1.62 in an eternity so no idea what to say about people still using it... For the screenshot problem, try applying the TSOrd High Resolution patch to your original trespass.exe and test the high widescreen resolution with that, see if the same thing happens. The patc...

Re: Avira AntiVir thinks RECCOMPRESS.EXE is a Trojan
So this thread is really old, but I just wanted to add that if anybody happened to have a good icon to submit for reccompress.exe, why would I not include it in the official atx package?

Re: Learning 'Programming'
It largely depends on what level you expect to program. Pure C is a good place to start for apps. Not perfect, but it gives you the nuts and bolts of programming and has influenced most popular languages. The biggest problem learning it is the lack of an error control mechanism, and GUI. So you shou...

Re: ATX error
Hello! Are you still there?
If you are running the ATX executables available for download from the ATX site, you should never get this error... As Slugger asked, what executable are you running? What is your Operating System?
