Re: RETURN TO THE LOST WORLD

OBSERVATION It was high noon. The two scientists had been observing specimens for some hours now, sitting atop the Explorer. The sun had already grown hot, and they had erected the rain roof for shade. The various species in the valley had taken turns drinking from the stream; most had opted to rest...

Re: Question: What is the reason of melee weapons being so useless?

I doubt that's it. Thinking of it, I am imagining that something like the spear is stored on the back, and when Anne is crouched or jumps, the foot box moves up, and may impact the damage-having melee weapon.

Looks pretty neat. What inspired you to do a golf cart model?

PS: Don't suppose you ever got around to my little text game's latest release...

Re: Question: What is the reason of melee weapons being so useless?

I have had the Mayan spear from TC Act 1 kill me while it was being stored on my back. It doesn't always happen, rather it is a chance while you have such an item stowed. EDIT: It occurs to me that the problem of dying from an obj with scripted damage, might occur more frequently when jumping. In th...

Re: "Trespassing!" A trespasser AAR/runthrough

A friend of mine did discover something on their first playthrough though, Anne can auto-bunnyhop when Rexes are nearby. I can only assume the devs added such a feature as a 'sprint' button to avoid rexes? Nope nope nope that's not a thing, he must have uhhhhh... An idea snaps in Drac's mind. Omg. ...

Hmmmm! I am glad you liked the non-combat parts. Those were really nice to write. I tried sometimes to tie dino encounters to narrative, as well.

Re: Question: What is the reason of melee weapons being so useless?

I think DeadEyeGuy is the authority here on melee. Hopefully he sees this topic.. But to state it, melee is not entirely worthless in Tres, just rather difficult to master.

Re: How alive is this forum these days? (+extra questions)

Part of Trespasser's appeal to me is the fact that most people dislike it. It is a game that creators and players sort of want buried in the past. I am happy to continue playing it; I'd much rather be involved with a game that does not have a huge following, one where you don't get lost in the sea o...

Re: "Trespassing!" A trespasser AAR/runthrough

Drac scrolls through the images up to IT. You are right, I'm afraid I'm a little tired to be reading descriptions of retail Tres this morning. Nice to see the game getting attention, though. Looks great! Man, Research Indicates' playthrough was so long ago. In my memory it was the first video onlin...

Re: Raptor's health

Hmmm in IJ? But there is that case of the Tribe A fighting the Tribe B in IJ1... But yes such an error would cause a lack of fighting, as with the raptors by the stego in AS.

Re: Drac Codes: Getting into C# programming again!

Afraid I ah did not  I think I tried about 7-8 times and though I'd last a little longer, eventually I would get killed again. That's probably down to me not being strategic in strategy games. I see! I do find that one of the cool things about the game, having to try to do that multiple times...

Re: Raptor's health

While I haven't looked in detail, my understanding of Tres is that the different raptor tribes don't like each other. A tribe A and tribe B raptor fight eachother in IJ (IJ1), and there is the above-mentioned example in the demo. I feel if there is a case where different-tribed raptors don't attack ...

Re: Drac Codes: Getting into C# programming again!

Eh, maybe they mixed some carnivore DNA in there as well :) Lol possibly some additional aggression. T-Rex / Bunker Ah hmm well, you do meet whatever dino you ran away from after exiting the Emergency Bunker. Possibly you forgot to heal up with medkits right away after finding the Rex again. He'll ...
