Re: Nitpicking
I'll take a shot in the dark but from the Gamasutra interview they state: The rolling terrain and a random-delete tool we often ran for optimization generally kept the repetition from seeming obvious. would the sort code have been related to the random-delete tool? probably not but it's as close a r...

Re: Is there some flavor text meant to exuse the lack of a left arm
while not really a reference - the game manual only mentions "Your arm/ the arm" and "your hand / the hand" - it doesn't specify that it's the left or right arm. A literalist might infer this to mean that Anne only has one arm! but i am sure it's just the devs not wanting to brin...

Re: The Trespasser Frontier (A Tres Blog)
And I am unsure how much you know from the pre-96 builds we have but those doesn't have the mountain. It was added later, probably to "force" the player towards the GeoPlant :) I've been on this forum for 18 years ago and I still struggle with seeing and reading all the data that passes t...

Re: The Trespasser Frontier (A Tres Blog)
Regarding the "view" building screenshot - is there any chance that this is related to the final trench/drawbridge area from the Shore/Pine valley? that location was always a bit simple looking. the '97 walkthrough doesn't really mention this. My main reasoning is because of the pylons. Do...

Re: Some Plains (PL) Research
The green box would be further right. The green box is very likely the starting area for Plains as it fits more with the walkthrough where the Town exit was at the south gate rather than the east gate (Town 3ds Max scene also have a marker for it once being the exit). I think I am having difficulty...

Re: Some Plains (PL) Research
I wanted to circle back to the first post in this thread, I need to make sure I how the map is to be oriented. Is this how we are supposed to interpret what direction the player went, or do I have it backwards? Capture.PNG I understand that my cropped image is not to scale, I think that I posted the...

Re: Favourite Original Game Levels?
accidentally finding out the end-level-trigger could be disabled by saving/loading, getting past the rex, finding the canal/trench shaping and not yet knowing what it was... Good times :) Yes, that happened to me as well! I somehow got into a situation where I jumped from the crates and saved, but ...

Re: Favourite Original Game Levels?
I am sure the last time this was polled, I picked a different answer, but I think I spent most of my free time in game exploring the town. There is a lot of environmental storytelling there The lab is my second choice, It's a great environment. My name is David, so when the game told me the card was...

Re: Internet Trespassing
I think this falls in line with Draco's original post, this is a video from a few months ago where a youtuber tries to make the most advanced windows 98 PC possible... and the game he tests out is Trespasser, he even mentions Trescom. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7D01We2aAu8 the trespasser stuff ...

Here's a timeline for the development of Trespasser. Did I misunderstand the question :D March 14th, 1928 - John Parker Hammond was born 1943 - Hammond took a train ride south, wearing his best clothes, eating an apple 1979 - the Biotech industry was beginning to boom In early 1980 Hammond surveyed ...
