Could be. They could have had a 2 CD installation, but I suppose hard drives were a lot smaller in those days, too.

Re: Trespasser Walkthrough From 1997! - Part Ten - Ascent

Have you played the Beta? There's the full AS level as originally designed (no gap), in the final release they shortened it. It was really HUGE... Haven't gotten around to playing the Beta yet, but now I'm more interested than ever. Does anyone have a clue why the Ascent was shortened, other than h...

Re: Trespasser Walkthrough From 1997! - Part Ten - Ascent

It really does seem to match AS1 and AS2 exactly, which is strange. It seems like nothing was ever meant to fill that big gap between LAB and AS1 in the retail game. So why are the end of LAB and beginning of AS1 so far apart?

Re: Trespasser Walkthrough From 1997! - Part Nine - InGen La

T-Rex What's unique about this fight? A T-Rex in the lab area would have been great! Since they removed the raptors in the lab buildings, a T-Rex in the lab area would have done nicely to keep things perilous. I'll have to add a Rex to the lab in TresEd and see how things play out. Clean Room Use r...

Re: Trespasser Walkthrough From 1997! - Part Eight - Shore

Well at the time I guess they didn't really know the limitations of the engine they were building.. if there was even half an engine in 1997. Seems to be something that hadn't really been done before in '97? At least, not in a 3D "FPS"-type world. The engine was started to built in 1998. ...

Re: Trespasser Walkthrough From 1997! - Part Eight - Shore

If you aim low, it's always going to end up with something rubbish. There's no point designing something worse if there's a possibility for it to be better. If it's successful, it's better than having something fully working but badly designed. Absolutely true, but I think it's weird that a two sto...

Re: Trespasser Walkthrough From 1997! - Part Eight - Shore

The release is missing a lever, however, so Anne needs to find a stick which will fit into the hole, and use it to throw the release. They're dreaming. Perhaps the lab gate is opened by a multi-part device, which can be assembled from parts around the harbor. Really dreaming. *Dock Offices The offi...

Re: Trespasser Walkthrough From 1997! - Part Seven - Pine Va

So the GTP has been originally closed off from the rest of the island (meaning no dinosaur access in the vicinity)? Something which looked off in the harbor map too. The entire dock area is closed off by fences and what not else yet a T-Rex and a Trike (has it been a Trike? not sure anymore) Stegos...

I'm guessing a Parasaurolophus... That was my initial thought and, you know, you might actually be right! Build 96 includes a movie-cannon Parasuarolophus model called ParaA or something like that. VA129: That black crest... Some kind of species varriant. DNA from a different period or.. another co...

Re: Trespasser Walkthrough From 1997! - Part Six - Plains

Someone HAS to make this level! No excuses, just do it! :P It seems easy enough to do. To me, it doesn't seem as complicated as Plantation House or Pine Valley. (On a side note, I'd love to see Plantation House recreated, but, of course, I'm sure we all would.) The only thing that might be tricky w...

Re: Trespasser Walkthrough From 1997! - Part Six - Plains

Looks like a lot of this level made it into the game, with pieces of it being distributed into the other levels. It's cool to see that there are more than three Brachs in this walkthrough. "Brachiosaurs are visible in the extreme distance, grazing on the few trees..." More like, "Brac...

hppav wrote:"How did you find that out"
The walkthrough tells us which gate, the map in the beta Town shows us it's location, and IJ's terrain shows that the ridge continues.
Cool, that's clever!
Thanks a bunch. It makes sense to me now.

Re: Walkthrough Part Five - TOWN

Oops, I meant upper right >_< Upper left is the current exit, the original exit was removed and part of the ridge was flattened when Plains was cut. It was? How did you find that out? Oh, boy, now I'm lost again. A few questions: Did the original (upper right) exit curve around to connect to the PV...
