Re: Community Project AND jetblack Beta
Screenshots, baby. Taken in Night Mode, obviously.
Re: Community Project AND jetblack Beta
Much better than your last level. This level reminded me of Nem's first level a little.
Not bad, but it needs a lot of work. Here are questions, remarks and suggestion to improve you're level:
Not bad, but it needs a lot of work. Here are questions, remarks and suggestion to improve you're level:
- try to make your walls blend with each other smoother.
- I liked the crashed truck.
- Why is there an invisible wall that stops you from going to the pop machine?
- Your terrain needs to be smoothed out.
- You didn't have too many weapons in your level for the amount of dinos.
- Why are the 2 big guys there? Death wish?
- The ending trigger is too big.
- do not use more than one water object for one water hole.
- If you are going to use wired fence, make sure it looks nice on the other side.

Strange, I don't really use it so I couldn't tell you. I usually do everything manually.jetblack wrote:The terrain editor's smoother doesn't work, only the raise and lower terrain function works. Any ideas why?
You should place them somewhere where the player should go, not in a dead end.jetblack wrote:The two big guys are for noobs to get killed by. (Hey, I'm not ALL good. )
Add foliage on the other side. Not just an empty valley.jetblack wrote:How exactly do I make the wired fence look nice?
Ah I see. OK then.jetblack wrote:the invisible wall is to keep you out so you don't go into the area where I'm working. (As hinted at by the sign and metal...thingy in front of the bridge)
I'm guessing that's the Community Project part, right? What did you have in mind?jetblack wrote:I was wondering if anyone wanted to start a stand-alone level set, with new models (hopefully done by TresCom's amazing riggers) and such.

Re: Community Project AND jetblack Beta
For some reason the download is not working.. I click the link and it just brings me to this page, with no download.
I must say, those screenshots are impossible to see on my monitor. I brought them into photoshop and can just barely make things out when cranking brightness to 100.

Oh, they will be. And they'll be separate.

That's coming.

You might be having the same problem I had when I was trying to download DX:Chronicles V0.5. Have you tried scrolling all the way down?Draconisaurus wrote:For some reason the download is not working.. I click the link and it just brings me to this page, with no download.
They are clear enough on my monitor.Draconisaurus wrote:I must say, those screenshots are impossible to see on my monitor. I brought them into photoshop and can just barely make things out when cranking brightness to 100.

Hey, Drac, it's definitely time to get rid of your monitor... coincidentally, right now at my workplace we have an offer where you turn in your old (working) monitor and get a $33 (S/.100) rebate in a 21.5" flat panel LCD monitor, normal price was $200 (S/.600), so I got one for myself yesterday. Just came home an hour ago and had lunch, I'm going to connect it in a while... max resolution is 1920x1080.

Re: Community Project AND jetblack Beta
I did.. and it displayed the page I linked to above, with no download starting. I think normally a small window appears at that point, which is not happening now. Perhaps a Chrome browser error?
Oh and, congrats, you guys convinced me. I now have a new, flat, widescreen monitor (res of 1366 x 768). Hoping I'll find a fix for Trespasser resolution that does not stretch the screen..
The screenshots are now quite clear. A hot air baloon, nice. They are also quite horrid-looking in software mode... Definitely not recommendable for night-mode lighting.
