Re: hppav's Release Thread (Yeah, I'm releasing stuff!)
I assume it's supposed to be white that's tinged yellow from rust. Usually when one has their vehicles painted olive drab, they use white for the identifying markings.
The whole setup in front of the EA with all these olive drab vehicles parked around looks like some kind of last stand for an InGen mercenary or security group. There's a mid 80s Chevy Suburban, a late 70s Toyota Land Cruiser with its doors removed, an early 1990s Ford Explorer - all positioned facing the jungle. Then there's what looks to be another Suburban facing the EA. So it looks like all the vehicles are pointing at one small place in front of the EA.
Like they were all either waiting for evac or were left behind when the island was abandoned and tried to stick together...
And we know from The Lost World that the regular employees drove vehicles with normal everyday colors and no decals/logos. This isn't true in Trespasser though...

Re: hppav's Release Thread (Yeah, I'm releasing stuff!)
You’re thinking that some hunters were left behind and then managed to get some of the vehicles that ingen left behind in 93 or 94 up and running running? Maybe, but is it possible to get a car running after it’s been sitting for four-five years?

From what I heard (I don't have any car or anything), a car that's been sitting for some years can't start, because gasoline doesn't work as gasoline after some years because some substances disappear or whatever.KillerBee256 wrote:You’re thinking that some hunters were left behind and then managed to get some of the vehicles that ingen left behind in 93 or 94 up and running running? I mean the people on the island back in 93ish gathering together for evac. Perhaps they were trying to recover something from the Lab complex and maybe they succeeded... Who knows.

Don't take it too harshly; it's the set dressers fault. They just set some thing up so it looked good on camera; personally I thought that jeep was way too old to be on the island. I mean INGEN "spared no expense" so I would expect most of the vehicles on the island to new at the time they were brought there, so from the mid 80 to early 90s. On another subject did Second Illiteration ever finish an improved texture for the truck?

Not yet, haven't heard anything from him about it either. He may have forgotten.

Hello, I just started playing the Genetics Lab (great models by the way) and I keep walking through the building. Is there any way to fix this?
Thank you in advance.

What you see is only half of what's actually supposed to be there. The physics models are missing, perhaps hppav could add them when he has time.Herpetologist wrote:Hello, I just started playing the Genetics Lab (great models by the way) and I keep walking through the building. Sam, this is great stuff!!! Really like the town. Not sure if I've said this before exactly but your Nublar models are amazing. Btw, that explorer from the EA front lot is missing ALL smoothing groups (or elements in the case of Tres). This may have happened if you exported it out of Tres into Max and back again.
Hmm, I actually really like the isolated credits letters; seems useful. What I would like to have is that old image you had of the Jeep numbers. We'll need them in RTJP to make new jeeps... Not sure how TI has been handling that so far... And that brochure definitely needs to go in RTJP.

Here's the font that I had used to make the Jeep numbers back then, it does require a minimal amount of tweaking to make movie accurate, particularly the 4 and 8. That's probably better than trying to find some old textures Plus it's free.

Re: hppav's Release Thread (Yeah, I'm releasing stuff!)
Huh, that might just do the trick, thanks!
Re: hppav's Release Thread (Yeah, I'm releasing stuff!)
Heh heh, I actually found an image of all the jeep numbers myself, been using that. I haven't actually imported all the letters quite yet, though. That font will be extra useful in the future. And the brochure will be there for sure, probably edited a little though to use images from RTJP instead...I think I actually have an old version as well.Hmm, I actually really like the isolated credits letters; seems useful. hppav. Do you have any plans on updating these levels and other levels you have been working on in the past on the new Trespasser CE by Lee Arbuco?

I DID indeed forget about textures for the vehicle
