You mean this one you located?
Nope, I mean the other one I located.

But there are elements from the Mayan ruins visible in that picture...

I'm not saying it's not mayan ruins, but it sure doesn't look like it.
Maybe Salas can help?

Pretty sure the canal goes to the Mayan ruins, we have much evidense for it. That doesn't mean the Mayan ruins have always looked the same, and that picture may actually reveal some architecture of the temple we're trying to recreate.. would like to see what hppav has to say about it.

What we're looking at is a structure with a flat low roof, it appears to have two or three entrances on this side of the structure. It is possible that the terrain texture actually went INSIDE the structure rather than in front of it (Explains why the texture doesn't match up with the main texture and is off by several feet). With the front in the position that this image shows, however, means that the step-like structures were inside the temple like structure rather than leading up to, which is very peculiar.

Hmmm... step-like structures? And I agree the placement of the overhang we see could be off, but I doubt it would have been over the canal, seeing as the Raptors would need to reach it for drinking... (funny part is, we could actually script them to drink from it).

What if the "canals" that we see the raptors drinking from were part of the Mayan plumbing system? Leads from a cistern or something.

Did Mr. Salas say if the raptors made their nest inside the Mayan complex, or just around it? The Mayan buildings would have to look pretty delapitated and overgrown, much more I would say than so present in Ascent I.

The steps that go up into the alcove, you know, carved from the ground? Not the canal, it doesn't go over the canal, over the steps and the alcove.

Well, we still haven't really decided what it is. I tried to find the real life counterpart to that "track" outside, but it seems like it's something the developers just put there. Anyway, those were the most resembling pics I found while searching. (I also found some resemblance in pics of 19th-20th century gold mines, so there is a slight chance).

Btw, wouldn't it be best to hear mr. Salas' version first? :?

Well... as soon as he speaks up... I'm all ears :P

(I would PM him myself but I prefer to wait until he's at least seen the questions I made up before.. don't want to go overboard)

I'm not sure.. hppav did he say at all how much he looked at the threads here? I think he may not be saying anything because no one else is saying anything. Slugger (who originally contacted him) has been a tad sick lately I believe, so that may have temporarily halted communications.. hppav you might want to try PMing him again. Not sure what you would say though.. this is also probably the case with Rolf. Someone might want to PM him, since I think it's been a week since the questions thread was posted..
