Tatu - Sunday, 18 August 2013 (Stegoland)

Post by tatu »

I was cleaning files in my Trespasser folder and found this. I don't remember that I did release it but here it is.

This is a level called StegoLand, and some people know what that is referring to. Draco made this as a fun little level after all the random teleportations in Trespasser. This level also contains the cut Bus system planned for JPDS, where you could take a bus to the next busstop.

NOTE: This level needs the terrain (.wtd) file from JPDS~Stream level in order to work. I didn't test this in-game but as I remember, it does work.

No reactions to this, eh? I thought it was pretty fun. I don't remember where the level begins - hopefully in Stegoland - but you'll have to fly (or in theory walk) to the nearest bus stop to begin the tutorial, then fly around to other bus stops to experience how the system works.

Hmm. After playing this level, it makes me wonder - how were you guys going to incorporate the buses into the game and still have it make sense? Who was going to be driving them? :P

It was more for fun than to make sense. :yum: The "tnext" cheat already existed in Trespasser; this was a way to give it some kind of background, like checkpoints in a typical game that you can return to. It was going to be potentially very useful when all of JPDS1 was a single level; some puzzles were to extend over vast distances, like the dinosaur eggs.

Hmmm StegoLand... I'm looked very interesting, I must say. All those damned random objects... Like being lost in the sandz of time... mmm very nice.
Should be made into a bigger level sometime, methinkz.

Hey anyone want a soda or something? 'P
