Trespasser Source Code Review

Post by masterchiefoo7 »

I stumbled on this while surfing the internet. He even uses trescom for a few sources.

Great article... I wonder how long it took him to research and write all that.

For what little of the technical jargon I understood, this did still help me understand a little bit better

Should be added to TresCom (with permission, of course) :) Looks interesting, though I don't understand half of it

Fascinating article for sure!

Did someone manage to save a copy of that article locally, along with all his images?

Interesting to note that Tres has been receiving much more attention lately on the Internet....

You're kidding, right? That question shouldn't even be asked... of course I did! Also a PDF copy, just in case.
I even went so far as looking for the text about the depth sorting algorithm he quoted...

I knew if anyone did that you'd be the one to do so, machf!

Did you manage to find a copy of that textbook they used? If not I could check my university's library and the interlibrary loan system to try to get a hold of it. Would be good to have a copy of.

Well, the code for that EXE is included in the source package, but I don't see any actual EXE file included. I can try compiling it tomorrow.

Tried late last night. Threw several errors inside the compiler and failed. I'll see if I can get it to build with the builder batch file that's included.

I didn't look too closely at the code but I don't think there's much of anything of important here. Just looks like it's a test to generate a Windows shell and test the mouse. It calls the common include file and maybe (?) the physics lib but I didn't see anything to suggest it loads up any levels or includes assets to test or anything.

Hmmm well if it comes to it we can ask Lee to try and build it. For all we know he already has. Sneaky hobbitses...
