It took some doing but I'm playing TC Isle in Linux using Poin2Play and Transgamings Cedega, Here's proof...
Really great job guys!

You're one determined man, Dan. I'll certain give you that!
That's software mode, isn't it? Hope you can play it in that mode, but you'll probably suffer from sporatic crashes due to the 24bit textures, mostly.
Make sure that the page manager isn't checked off, that seems to help lower the chances of a software meltdown.
Have fun.

I can't play in hardware, everything is white, and the game is completely unplayable.Rebel wrote:That's software mode, isn't it?
Funny you should mention this! Every time I get anywhere near the B-17, I get a hard crash!Hope you can play it in that mode, but you'll probably suffer from sporatic crashes due to the 24bit textures, mostly.
I'm not sure how to do this. Could you explain in mind-numbing detail!Make sure that the page manager isn't checked off, that seems to help lower the chances of a software meltdown.
So far, I am! You guys have done an outstanding job! Congratulations!Have fun.

Make sure that you use really large and unfamiliar technical words (technobabble) so that we have to reference them.Dapper Dan wrote:Rebel wrote:Make sure that the page manager isn't checked off, that seems to help lower the chances of a software meltdown.

Where is this "page manager?" Is that a Windows thig?

Sorry for being vague, Dan.
Video, options, select new driver. Though in software mode, I don't think you're allowed to change that setting. You'd need to add (or change this) in the tpass.ini file (next to trescom.exe)
Page Managed=0
Not sure that it'll accept the command in software mode, but can't hurt to try it.
If, by chance it already reads Page Managed = 0, then try = 1 instead.

Great news! I went back and nabbed Winex 3.1, that is if you will remember, the last edition of Winex that didn't corrupt the video to an unplayable degree, and... well have a look!
Here's the really exiting part! There is NO slowdown like before when I played regular Trespasser in hardware with Winex 3.1 when animate objects are in frame!
Y'all try and help me figure out why this is so! What is it that was done differently that enables me to play TC-Isle normally in hardware, that won't allow me to play the regular game without the slowdown??!
You'll notice from this shot that there is no fog either. Any idea why that might be?
I just passed the B-29! You guys deserve a standing ovation for your hard work! TC-Isle is MUCH appreciated by this old horse!

Say, that's pretty neat, Dan. I know next to nothing about linux, but perhaps it had something to do with the exe used with the retail? Or, did the slowdown occur inside the demo as well? As far as the animates, we set them up exactly as dreamworks did (or, so we believe). A master object, using substitute mesh and physics for the actual dinosaurs. (One of the reasons being, each dinosaur can be an individual and not a clone subjected to the same values as the master dino)
Where's the fog? No idea on that either. Perhaps it simply can't render it?

Be sure to install it via "Point2Play." It makes things a lot easier. PM or email me if you have any questions!
